Mission : (September 09 )

The Mission behind this latest version of my website is to have a much more personal , relaxed web space ... completely different than before showcasing my Photographs of family life , holidays , local scenery , pets , etc , and with some manipulated images as well ... A record of my progress as I learn to use a digital slr camera .

Family , Friends , Hobbies Lots more as well... , likes and dislikes, favourite things in life , - what would I buy if I won the lottery ? Meet the wife .ummm a Beautiful Thai Princess , funny and loving and just fantastic ! ( ummm well she could read this ?! ) ....No honestly its all true !.. theres "Bentley as well .. the family gaurd dog , a very cross Jack Russell rescued from Mid Antrim Animal sanctuary .

Promise : (September 09 )

I promise that all photographs will have been taken by me , and my new dslr (which is the Pentax K-M ). If any of the content is not by myself , I will state so and generally give a source (possibly by link , directly to the source ) and credit said author. The web site is totally created by myself through Adobe photoshop and Dreamweaver. , the Flash galleries constructed in Adobe Lightroom..

Learning step by Step : ( October 2009 )

It is hoped that the viewer enjoys the site and finds it easy to navigate . Take the site for what it is ... a bit of fun ... a record of the authors trip through his late introduction to real photography ... step by step growing more experienced about the cameras features and the various complicated software involved in developing the raw images to create a finished product, trying to create something that is not only interesting but beautiful , colourful , funny , sad , romantic, eerie , fantastique ..as well .

Photographic content , image size , and quality

The photographs and photoshopped images within the site are high quality and resolution , but not so high that they would be very slow to load , so I have tried to optimise them without loosing too much of the quality .

Most of the images will start off as RAW format from the camera (which are very large files indeed ). and will then be developed in Adobe Lightroom . I will then save them as TIFF and finally finish off in Adobe Photoshop optimised for the web and saved as jpeg's or gifs.

EXPERIENCE : ( October 2009 )

......................I am far from an expert when it comes to photography but I am hoping to to improve as the development of the site progresses . the above method is the way I have managed to learn processing my raw images (from camera ). I find the results are pleasing to me and my friends so I will continue with these methods until I learn other ways . Using the RAW files means I have more control over the processing of the basic image and this in turn lends itself for better end results . The images are not altered in any way (destructively ) and are only actually changed when saved to another file , outside Lightroom and then changed to TIFF , This is still a very good quality , large file , ideal for print , but I tend to then reduce the size and optimise it for web which automatically cuts down the file size without loosing too much in qualityas well but makes it more suitable for web display.......................................................................................................................................................................................................................

The website is a bit of a hobby too , somewhere to show my photos , express myself , etc ..the site is designated as my storage and display area where I will showcase my photographs. The site will obviously change on a continual basis as I will be regualarily updating photos and honing the existing ones , improving content as I go.. Any one interested in an original ..let me know !. Most of the photographs can be seen via the web gallery page which has them partly catalogued and once chosen a web flash page will appear , courtesy of Adobe Lightroom , to return to the selection page , click the x . Others will be by HTML pages , this method offers the availabilty of taking a copy .
